Hofstra Law is uniquely positioned within a university that champions interdisciplinary innovation, allowing students to collaborate across fields and disciplines. Hofstra Law’s core values help connect legal education with real-world problem-solving through partnerships with Hofstra’s renowned medical, engineering, and business schools. These collaborations prepare graduates to navigate complex challenges at the intersection of law, technology, health, and commerce.

Some notable interdisciplinary collaborations at Hofstra Law include the Bioscience Business Innovation Program (BBIP), the Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP), and the Deans’ Legal-Tech Fellowship. In Spring 2025, Hofstra Law partnered with Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory to launch the Bioscience Business Innovation Program (BBIP). The interdisciplinary BBIP initiative paired law students with scientists and MBA students for a week-long program focused on biotech entrepreneurship. The curriculum includes workshops on design thinking, market validation, and venture capital, culminating in a pitch week before a panel of stakeholders. Law students served as legal advisors, gaining hands-on experience with intellectual property and regulatory issues. In 2024, Hofstra Law expanded its Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) with Northwell Health into four local medical clinics. The mission of the MLP is to provide much-needed legal and medical care to community members across Long Island and New York City, regardless of the ability to pay. Hofstra Law seeks to deliver holistic care to underserved patients in our community by uniting social, medical, legal, and academic resources. The Deans’ Legal-Tech Fellowship is an interdisciplinary program that brings together law and computer science students to develop artificial intelligence apps that will advance the legal profession.

“With exceptional students, a dedicated and growing faculty, and alumni deeply invested in our success, Hofstra Law is poised to continue its upward trajectory,” said Jenny Roberts, Dean and Professor of Law at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. “Our recent record employment outcomes and strong incoming class reflect the quality of our education and the drive of our community. As we build on this momentum, our new interdisciplinary programs will further elevate Hofstra Law’s impact and reputation.”
